A chartered accountant, Jagat has worked in the Audit Commission and the Home Office–where he was the department’s Counter Fraud Champion and headed its cross-department Anti-Fraud investigation team. Jagat has also extensive experience of local and central government, as a district auditor and senior manager. He has been heavily involved in the voluntary sector on school governing bodies, standards committees, local national and international voluntary organisations, and as a magistrate in St Albans for 23yrs.
Jagat is keen to take on the responsibility of representing the residents of Clarence ward. living in the ward himself, he can see there is scope for improvement in many local services such as bus and youth services.
