Councillor Martin Leach represents Batchwood Ward on St Albans District Council and is leader of the Labour group on the council.

Martin grew up in Batchwood, attending Margaret Wix school and living with his family on Green Lane and then Langley Crescent. He now lives in the Fleetville area with his wife Patricia and their toddler Thomas. With a keen interest in local politics, Martin graduated from university with a degree in Political Science. He started his working life in the outpatients department at St Albans City Hospital before moving into market research. Today he is self employed and works in St Albans.

Jacob Quagliozzi represents London Colney on St Albans District Council.

Elected in May 2011, at 25 Jacob Is St Albans District Council's youngest Councillor who made a name for himself campaigning against the closure to London Colney's police station and the Tory County Council's proposals to build an incinerator on London Colney's doorstep.

Jacob grew up locally and left school at 16, working full time whilst attending night college to go to university. He now works for a publishing company in London.

His policy interests include youth services and housing.

Councillor Eileen Harris represents Sopwell ward on St Albans District Council.

Eileen has been a Sopwell District Councillor since 2003, She has worked hard for residents on enviromental issues, planning concerns, community safety and the needs of the elderly and young people in the ward. She makes regular visits to residents, holds monthly surgeries in St Julian's Church Hall and responds immediately to any issues causing concern to local people. Eileen in a governor of Mandeville School and the Sopwell and Verulam Children's Centre. She works as an adviser for a national advice agency.
