Roma Mills, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for St Albans, is urging local people to support the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour to show that they care about climate change.

On Saturday 27 March 2010 WWF want a billion people around the world to switch off their lights at 8.30pm for one hour – WWF’s Earth Hour.  In 2009  the Earth Hour took the world by storm as it travelled east to west and hundreds of millions of people switched off their lights.   Over 3,000 cities and towns, nearly 1,000 landmarks and more than 83 countries around the world took part.

WWF believes there is still time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. But we need to act now.  “It would be great if the people of St Albans joined in this global action” said Roma “We all need to make our voices heard to protect our planet and to make sure this is a good chance to do this alongside people from all over the world”.
